Tired Girl Collective

Archive for July 2013

Have you been coming by Tired Girl for years, picking up a new button every now and then? Well, this year we have FOUR new buttons for you. They lean heavily on our beloved Sherlock and Doctor (or actually, the LADIES of Sherlock and Doctor Who…how fitting!), but there is one in there for your basic NERD GIRL…which is probably…you! So come on by and let your geek flag fly! Pick up a new button this year, they’re only a dollar…and you were only going to use that for food or water, right?

Did I mention that Melanie of Belle Pottery is making some awesome stuff for SDCC? BECAUSE SHE IS!!! Check out these bracelets. Pretty darn cool, eh? But…you know…please don’t do any smashing until you’ve paid, ok?

Oh, you say the Hulk is not your thing? Well, first of all, what are you talking about of course he’s not your THING, the THING is your thing…and secondly, here…for you Whovians we have some other options…ImageI’m guessing there may be other Belle Pottery pieces for your particular geeky bent, so be sure to stop by and check out her lovely wares. And her pretty jewelry too!

I don’t know if you guys realize this, but Tired Girl’s very own Ms. Smith is also known as one Sherri L. Smith, author of novels and teller of tales. And if that name somehow seems familiar to you, check your bookshelves. She’s written some pretty amazing stuff. Aside from her Small Press duties at SDCC, she’s gonna be moderating a panel that you might be interested in seeing…

When Grrls Fall in Love  Saturday July 20, 2013 11:00am – 12:00pm Room 23ABC

From The Hunger Games‘ Katniss to Divergent‘s Tris, no one knows how to give a solid ass-kicking like a YA novel heroine. But when these young ladies aren’t saving the world, overthrowing powerful regimes, or slaying everything from zombies to dragons, they still find time for romance. Cassandra Clare (The Mortal Instruments), Ally Condie (Matched), Veronica Roth (Divergent), Holly Black (The Coldest Girl in Coldtown), Marissa Meyer (Scarlet),Lissa Price (Starters), and Veronica Wolff (The Watchers) discuss the delicate balance between killing and kissing, and what it takes to properly woo a YA heroine. Moderated by Sherri Smith (Orleans).

She’s also doing a signing for her most recent novel, Orleans, at the Penguin booth (Booth 1028/1030) on Thursday,  July 18, from 2:00pm – 3:00pm.

I know she’ll be happy to see you…make sure to ask her if she’s a tired girl!

You guys are not going to believe the lovely stuff that Melanie of Belle Pottery has in store for you at SDCC…just look at this nonsense…

It is my understanding that these are “hold-alls” for your rings and wallets and whatnot, but what they really are is SPECTACULAR…wait until you see them all glazed and shiny and lovely in person. Swing by the Tired Girl Collective in Small Press at table O-12. You can’t miss us, we’ll be the ones with the awesome pottery!

New for SDCC 2013, motivational posters, Tired Girl Style! We love you guys and you are truly wonderful…even if you aren’t women. (But kind of especially if you are!)

We know, we know, it’s been a while…but we’re back! And we’re headed to San Diego Comic Con again! And, even better, we’ve got a new Tired Girl with us this year. Stay tuned and we’ll fill you in with all the deets. Until then, remember Small Press Table O-12. We’ll be as pink and pretty as usual…and just as tired. See you soon!
